Haryana Moong Beeg Subsidy Yojana: The cultivation of Summer Moong not only enriches the soil fertility through fixation of nitrogen and addition of organic matter but also add to the income of the farmer by including it as a third crop in the cropping system. Therefore, for the first time, the Department of Agriculture has set a target of 1 lakh acres of Summer Moong during the year 2023. State Government has decided to provide the Summer Moong seed to the farmers at a 75% subsidized rate.
There is good news for farmers who want to cultivate moong. This time, the Haryana government is giving 75 percent subsidy to farmers on summer moong seeds. Under this scheme,the MH-421 variety seed will be available on subsidy at 75 Haryana Seed Development Corporation sales centers across the state.
What will be the price of this seed?
After this subsidy, farmers will get MH-421 seed at the rate of only Rs 42.50 per kg. Let us tell you that without subsidy, the price of this variety of seed is Rs 170 per kg.
Apply before April 20
To buy moong seeds on subsidy, Haryana farmers will have to register themselves before April 20. According to Arvind Kumar, Assistant Seed Development Officer, Haryana Seed Development Corporation Umri, only those farmers registered on the portal agriharyana.gov.in of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department of Haryana will be given moong seeds on subsidy. He said that HSDS has seven main offices in Yamunanagar, Umri, Pataudi, Bhiwani, Tohana, Hisar, and Sirsa in Haryana. 75 sales centers are linked to them across Haryana. Farmers will get seeds only at the sales centers. Arvind Kumar told that the total price of the seed is Rs 170 per kg, but the Haryana government is giving 75 percent subsidy to the farmers. Therefore, farmers will have to pay only Rs 42.50 per kg. While taking seeds from Haryana Seed Development Corporation, the farmer will have to show his Aadhar card, voter card, or Kisan card at the sales center.
600 quintals of seeds will be distributed
Dr. Wazir Singh, Deputy Director, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, said that with the aim of increasing the area of summer moong, the department has decided to provide seeds to farmers at 75 percent subsidy. The target is to sow moong in about six thousand acres of area in Karnal district, for which 600 quintals of summer moong seeds will be distributed. The seed will be available at a 75 percent subsidy through the sales centers of Haryana Seed Development Corporation. The farmer will have to pay only 25 percent. For this, farmers will have to register on the website of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department by April 20.
A farmer can get 30 kg of seeds
Farmers can usually get 4 to 4.8 quintals of yield per acre from the MH 421 variety available on subsidy. This crop is ready for harvesting 60 days after sowing. The grain of this variety of moong is bright green and medium-sized and resistant to yellow leaves. Under this scheme, a farmer can get a maximum of 30 kg or up to three acres of seeds.
